Out and about in South Yarra:
May Shen from MAS Tax was seen recently at the MHS International Night Dinner
On Saturday 22nd August Melbourne High School’s Memorial Hall became a colourful ‘Hawkers Market’ where guests enjoyed food from over 15 countries.
The event brought the school’s international community together to celebrate the variety of culture and cuisine, and also offered families an open wardrobe of national costumes to try on. There were displays of skill and strategy with Chinese calligraphy demonstrations and visitors challenging members of the MHS teams at chess and backgammon.
Entertainment during the night included students and staff from the school’s music department performing:
- excerpts from the upcoming joint MHS/MacRob production of Romeo and Juliet
- the rhythms of Soul Power – the school’s very own breakdancing club
- Chinese dance, traditional music and a magician
- Indonesian interactive dancing and poetry
- Greek dancing with Zorba
- Indian dance and music
Come along with May and her family to the production of Romeo and Juliet, showing at the school’s Arts Centre from September 9th to 12th. Book to see it HERE
